The Albanian Road Authority, in an announcement made today, has updated the situation regarding the demolitions and works being carried out in Dragostunjë.

In the announcement made, the ARRSH says that work is underway to remove soil from the existing road to open up the terrain where probes will be placed to conduct the geological study.

Also, the ARA announces that work has begun on regulating the flow of the Shkumbin River.

The Authority announces that regarding the new axis under construction, after the completion of the geological study, the project will be revised.

The Albanian Road Authority has begun working with high intensity on several fronts, with the aim of resolving the situation as quickly as possible.

Currently, work is underway to remove soil masses on both sides of the existing road, with the aim of opening up the terrain where probes will be placed to conduct a detailed geological study and technical assessment of the area after the landslide.

In parallel, with an increased mobilization of heavy vehicles, works have begun to regulate the flow of the Shkumbin River. The flow is being directed to the left bank, to create the necessary space for the construction of an alternative road along the railway line.

After the completion of the geological study, the implementation project for the new Elbasan–Librazhd–Qafë Thanë road axis will be revised.
