The EU ambassador, Christian Hohmann, started her mission in Albania this week.

In a message addressed to Albanians, Hohmann said that the opening of membership talks with Albania will bring the EU closer to our country and that this makes us stronger.

The European Union officially opened negotiations with Albania on July 19 in what marked a historic moment at the close of the first intergovernmental conference in Brussels.

Although "the moment has begun", as the Czech Foreign Minister said, the path to membership is not only straight and there are processes that must be followed to become part of the European family.

On the other hand, the opening of negotiations for Albania (and North Macedonia) came at a delicate moment for Europe, between the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the threat that threatens the Western Balkans from the East. /CNA.al
