President Bajram Begaj held a reception with journalists and media representatives this evening, on the occasion of the new year 2023.

At this reception there were representatives from all the media, while Begaj also gave a speech.

The President expressed support for the mission of the media, while he did not leave behind the criticism of the level of journalism in the country.

"Very often, the media turns into a political battleground, where anything is possible, from fake news to vocabulary without any quality filter. Today's Albania has neither the reality nor the fiercest political confrontation in Europe. Therefore there is no reason for the Albanian media to experience and convey them as such", he said.

The Head of State stressed that the innovations brought by technology and social networks should not be used by the media to spread the mud of the small ambitions of anyone who has open accounts, with personal history, or with the history or justice of this country.
