Edi Rama celebrates his birthday/ Here's how old the Prime Minister is

Prime Minister Edi Rama celebrates his 61st birthday today . This birthday coincides with his fourth term in office. Rama is the first prime minister to serve four terms in office in Albania.

He has been leading the country for 12 years. Rama has been the number one in the Socialist Party since 2005 and Prime Minister of Albania since 2013. Before his election as Prime Minister, Rama held a number of government and diplomatic posts.

Furthermore, he served as Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports from 1998 to 2000. He then became the mayor of Tirana for at least three terms from 2000 to 2011.

He is now prime minister in his fourth term after winning on May 11, 2025.

Rama was born and raised in Tirana. After graduating from the Academy of Arts in 1982, he worked as a lecturer at the same Academy.

From 1993 he spent four years in France to establish an artistic career. Then, returning to Albania in 1998, he officially began his political career.

After that, former Prime Minister Fatos Nano appointed him as Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. In 2000, Rama had announced his intention to run for mayor of Tirana. The result of the mayoral election was a victory for him, receiving almost 57% of the total votes.

In 2013, Rama was invited to form the 33rd Albanian Cabinet and become Prime Minister of Albania following the 2013 elections, where the Socialist Party won the majority of cabinet seats.

Since then and to this day, Rama continues to lead Albania./ CNA
