Economics expert, Brisida Shehaj, has reacted to the Bankers evasion, for which the Fier Prosecutor's Office has requested the issuance of 14 security measures.

Shehaj said that in this whole situation, the pear has its tail behind it and there was no show of the state remembering to collect taxes.

"I see the media extolling the Bankers' evasion...

Be patient, people, the pear has its tail behind it, this show is not happening because the state remembered to collect taxes.

The procedure with the Bankers company began in 2014, where a joint group of experts from AKBN and the Directorate of Large Taxpayers, exercised control for 2011, forcing the company to pay a very considerable amount of Profit Tax (a value several times greater than this evasion found today).

This control of state institutions was appealed by Bankers in several instances and ended in 2024 with the victory of the Albanian State, in Abritaz.

The Tax Administration and AKBN, after the arbitration decision, would simply have to carry out the now consolidated procedure and with the decision of the Court of Appeal and Bankers Petroleum, today would have to pay hundreds of millions of euros in profit tax.

But instead of us as the people and taxpayers being informed about this success by the Government, we are treated to an idiotic show of an alleged evasion of several million euros (of course without any specified value).

According to the contract, if Bankers commits tax evasion, our beloved state, represented by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, has the right to terminate this contract.

Is this the reason why this show is being made?

Is this contract expected to pass into the hands of the next Oligarch?

Have these gentlemen investigated the diluent that was used until 2013 in those wells and who benefited?

We'll have to see it in the next soap opera.

One thing is certain: Patos Marinza is one of the poorest areas in Albania and will remain so.
