"Buka" file/ SPAK submits new evidence for Ahmetaj

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has submitted new evidence to the Special Court regarding the investigations in the "Buka" file, where the defendant is former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

Ahmetaj's defense attorney has requested time to review the new materials submitted by SPAK, thus postponing the preliminary hearing to July 17.

In this case, Ahmetaj is accused of abuse of office. The prosecution alleges that during his time as Minister of Finance, he allowed the privatization of land where a bakery was located, which was later built with a complex of buildings.

In addition, Ahmetaj is also under investigation for three other criminal offenses related to the incinerator case, specifically for "money laundering", "hiding assets" and "passive corruption"./ CNA
