"The fire is out of control"/ Himçi: The incinerator is burning

The member of the Democratic Party's Municipal Council in Elbasan, Blendi Himçi, stated in a statement to the media that the fire in the landfill has gotten out of control.

Himçi expressed that the theft built into the system is costing citizens not only financially but also in health and safety.

Himçi said that the dysfunctional incinerator is now burning citizens' money, while he leveled accusations against Prime Minister Rama and the government.

"The fire that broke out yesterday at the Elbasan landfill is another proof of how the theft built into the system is costing citizens not only financially but also in health and safety of life.

Instead of the waste being burned a few meters away, in the incinerator that cost no less than 26 million euros, and that citizens pay for with their taxes precisely for this purpose, the fire, which seems to have gotten out of control, apart from being an accusation against a corrupt government that has left nothing undone, is now poisoning all of Elbasan.

The Elbasan incinerator, since its construction in 2017, has not burned a single ton of garbage and has not produced a single kilowatt of energy. But money is burning endlessly. Last year, a company close to Rama won the tender announced by the state-owned company 'Eco Alb' for waste management in the landfill, worth around 400 thousand euros, favoring the Elbasan Municipality. But while the garbage is burning, poisoning Elbasan, Nuri Balla's 'Ergi' company, who knows where it has moved its trucks, with the permits for tourist towers or villages that were given to it by his fellow citizen, Adelajda Roka, on Rama's orders.

The fire in the Elbasan landfill highlights the urgent need that Edi Rama had in this city to steal votes. Well, it seems clear that Suel Çela's Sara, Vetting's Olsi, will do nothing but be the guarantee of thefts and cover-up of scandals in the city of Elbasan, just like the smoke from the landfill that has been poisoning the families of this city for two days.

"This toxic fire is also a bitter reminder that when elections are a farce, no one is held accountable. We are in a day when no one even demands accountability. The Democratic Party is the only voice," said Himçi./ CNA
