The President of AMA, Armela Krasniqi, held a meeting with sociologist and linguist Dominique Boullier and officials of the French embassy in Albania.

In a post on social media, Krasniqi wrote that those present had shown interest in how the AMA functions as a regulatory entity for audio and audiovisual media.

 

" Special and very impressive conversation with the esteemed professor of Sociology at the University of Paris, Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), sociologist and linguist Mr. Dominique Boullier and senior officials of the French Embassy in Albania."

Located in Tirana for a series of activities on current topics such as media rights in France and the use of social networks or the damage done to democracy by the viral spread of incorrect information, the visit and conversation organized at AMA was informative and very broad.

Mr. Boullier, in addition to being a researcher, is also known as the author of several important works related to current phenomena, of interest to the media and regulators, and related to the impact of social networks on the public, the power of platforms, digital life, etc.

I responded to his interest in the functioning of the AMA as a regulatory entity for audio and audiovisual media in Albania, cooperation with European counterparts, legal adaptations to those of the EU and the latest approved acts. An important process in which we are constantly engaged is the Media Education of the public as the best investment for creating a smart and decision-making audience in a virtual environment that changes every day.

"Very interesting exchange of opinions, but also examples coming from Europe, from a social and media perspective, of the issues most discussed today and that technological innovations have in common ," writes Krasniqi./ CNA
