The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, stated this evening that the "McGonigal" file is in the preliminary investigation phase, while adding that they are awaiting several letters of request from the US regarding the matter. In an interview for "Trialog" with Alban Alishani on RTSH, he emphasized that there is no pressure on SPAK regarding this file.

"That file is in the preliminary investigation phase. And that file was started mainly by the prosecution, then the denunciation of the opposition MP was added. We are waiting for some letters of request from the US. We have no complexes about any issue, but we are waiting for the evidence. We do not feel pressured by the McGonigal file, but it has its own difficulties and we also have a waiting period ," he said.

The SPAK Chief Prosecutor further stated that for the special prosecutors, no one is untouchable, including Prime Minister Edi Rama himself. Dumani said that if there is evidence of the Prime Minister committing a criminal offense, criminal prosecution will be carried out against him.

"For me and the Special Prosecutors, there is no untouchable person. If there is evidence of a crime being committed, criminal prosecution is also carried out against the prime minister. Even against anyone. If there is evidence, there is no obstacle or legal prohibition against not carrying out criminal prosecution against the prime minister.
