Dilemma for the registration of the DP in the elections/ Celibashi speaks: March

One of the current debates is the registration of the Democratic Party in the May 14 local elections, as the decision on the seal has not yet been made.

Ilirjan Celibashi, head of the Central Election Commission, spoke about this issue this afternoon.

Celibashi said in a media release that PD is one, but the election is only for the leader.

"There is only one PD, the election is for the head. The DP registration will be done when we have the request ready. March 6 is the deadline for PD to register with the CEC" , he said.

Asked why the CEC does not take into account the decision of judge Agron Zhukri, who recognized the Assembly on December 11, Celibashi said that he will wait until a decision is made on the seal and the DP addresses him with a request for registration in the elections.

"It is the same answer from my side regarding this issue. Let's wait for the day when we have before us a request from DP. To the knowledge of the CEC, there is only one DP. And there cannot be two political parties registered as electoral subjects or with similar names. There is no requirement of Reestablishment, of groups. There is a request from the DP to be registered as an electoral subject" , said the head of the CEC./ CNA.al
