About 200 court hearings in Korça will be postponed by the three-day boycott that began today in all districts of Albania.

The case of the rape of the lawyer Sokol Mênjesi is the main reason why this boycott was decided, while the lawyer is facing a difficult situation.

According to the president of the Korçë Chamber of Advocates, lawyer c, in relation to the law, there is a regression in the implementation of judicial processes.

"On behalf of the Korçë Chamber of Advocates, I wanted to convey to the broad public opinion about the decision-making of the Governing Council of the Chamber of Advocates of Albania, yesterday to boycott all court proceedings for a period of 3 days, starting from today, until Friday. The reasons for this decision come from the solidarity of our colleague Sokol Mêngjesi, to whom I wish a speedy recovery. This boycott is mainly related to this case, but not only Based on this case, it is mainly related to the problems faced by lawyers in real life, especially in the period of the implementation of the reform in justice and the new judicial map heavy increase in the activity of lawyers, which through both the legislation and the approach of the institutions has significantly suppressed the role of the lawyer in judicial processes judicial processes in consultation rooms without the presence of the parties that only judicial processes cannot be considered. This has led to the decision-making of the governing council of the bar association, with a different approach by setting up a working group to identify the problem and then address it to the relevant institutions that are KLP, KLJ, Ministry of Justice, and with the Law Commission to undertake what is most important in the position of the lawyer, the initiative to create the special status of the lawyer, which in many other countries this status has been given to lawyers and means more protection by law for lawyers.

Tarelli says that physical and psychological violence against lawyers has become a worrying phenomenon, while recalling the case of lawyer Entela Dvorani. Lawyers are affected by the psychological violence that is done by clients, due to the length of court proceedings, the procrastination of sessions, but also the non-acceptance of 90% of complaints.

"Cases of evidence of violence against lawyers, the final case was that of Sokol Mêngjesi, but other cases of physical and psychological violence against some lawyers have been evidenced, so it has become a disturbing phenomenon. In Korça, there was only 1 known case, that of the lawyer Entela Dvorani, which has been resolved by the lawyer's own will within that office. There are many cases of the lawyer being identified as responsible for the malfunctioning of the judicial system, so the party addresses the problem to the lawyer related to the duration of the processes, the clarification of decisions, appeals, but also in relation to the institutions where they are forced to make final decisions. Psychological violence that exists among lawyers, which also comes from clients who are tired of the length of the judicial process and the lack of justification in time for decisions , the procrastination of court hearings, the functioning of other links, mainly in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, especially this issue is related to the treatment that the courts of higher levels give to complaints in counseling rooms, which in 90% of cases are rejection of complaints" , he said.

The lawyers of the Korça Bar Association, as well as those of other districts, are facing a difficult situation, so Tarelli appeals to the authorities to take measures.

After this 3-day boycott that will end on Friday, the situation will continue to be seen, and meetings will be held again to further discuss the position that the lawyers will take./CNA
