The evening of December 6th brought dozens of citizens, families and children to the pedestrian zone of the city of Bilisht, who joined together for the traditional ceremony of lighting the New Year's tree lights.

Festive music, children's voices, and the sounds of seasonal songs created a lively and warm picture, marking the start of the most beloved period of the year.

The colorful decorations, lighting installations, and the fir tree placed in the center of the pedestrian zone were the main attraction for those present, especially children, who watched with admiration the moment of lighting.

In his welcoming speech, the Mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro, underlined the importance of this day for the community.

"Like every December 6, we gather to light the New Year's tree lights. This is a date that symbolizes the beginning of a holiday season, which we hope and wish will be white and joyful for all children, for your brothers and sisters, for your parents and grandparents," said Duro.

The festive atmosphere was also complemented by children's performances, games organized for them and photo stops near the decorations. With the lighting of the lights, Devolli officially opens the holiday season, bringing light, warmth and hope on the eve of the New Year. /CNA
