DP MP Ivi Kaso has reacted sharply to the decision to open centers for immigrants in several regions of the country. He has called this initiative "completely incomprehensible," emphasizing that the selected areas have long suffered from depopulation.

According to Kaso, the departure of local citizens cannot be replaced with refugees or irregular migrants, especially from areas considered problematic or in conflict. He accused the government of supporting this decision for its own political and personal interests.

"A serious approach is needed, not decisions taken to improve the image of a prime minister who is already being described by many as the leader of a narco-state," said Kaso. According to him, such favors towards international partners may satisfy momentary interests, but do not serve at all to clean up the government's image.

"It is completely incomprehensible that such decisions that affect the lives of citizens, especially regions that are plagued by depopulation, should replace those who have left with refugees or illegal immigrants coming from problematic areas such as war zones. There should be a serious approach and not for the personal interests of the prime minister, the barren image of a prime minister who is being described as leading a narco-state, hoping to fix it and buy it by giving such favors that satisfy a momentary interest from partner countries but cannot serve to clean up the prime minister's image," said Kaso./ CNA
