Bridge in danger of collapse/ Residents of Bleran-Bardhaj in protest

The bridge connecting the Bleran-Bardhaj area in the Municipality of Shkodra has become a major concern for residents, after suffering serious damage for two weeks that threatens its collapse.

As a result, the movement of vehicles, especially vans transporting students, has been banned for safety reasons. More than 150 children are forced to walk for several minutes every morning to reach the bridge, where the vehicle that takes them to school is waiting for them.

"It's been broken for 2 weeks and no one remembers it. It's collapsing and people are falling inside, someone is still in it. I believe the municipality has enough resources to fix it. It's been lying for 30 years about both the road and the bridge"

"We are 150 families, each house has 2-3 children. For 35 years, no one has been interested in us, we are like forgotten people. We carry our children on our shoulders for 5 km to take them to the school bus. They come for votes in seconds, they don't even think about the bridge"

Despite repeated complaints and concerns, no action has been taken by the local government so far, which has prompted residents to protest and demand immediate solutions.
