The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has given new details from the arrest of Lulzim Berisha.

The response states that the Albanian authorities insisted on the importance and priority of finding this person.

They note that the search was concentrated on the Levantine coast, where some agents traveled for weeks.

They show how they managed to find the whereabouts of the wanted person.

"Shortly after that, an apartment in San Juan de Alicante was found where the wanted man could be hiding. In the same month of December, while the investigators were conducting discreet surveillance in the vicinity of the urbanization, the agents managed to identify another member of the organization who was preparing to move the wanted person and the agents used the opportunity to arrest him", says the Ministry.

The Spanish Ministry of the Interior also says in a statement that the arrested person was the leader of a criminal organization to which dozens of murders are attributed since 1998, and mentions the fact that he was wanted for the murder of two people who were shot in a city in Albania in 2005.

"The fugitive began his activity in the criminal organization he led in the early 90s and took his name from one of the most important cities in the Albanian region, Durrës, as a symbol of the control that this organization had achieved and thanks to it will was positioned as the main exporter of cocaine and weapons in the country. The arrested person was wanted for the murder of two people, for settlement of accounts between rival clans that happened in 2005 and was revealed 15 years later", the press release of the Ministry of the Interior of Spain states.

In 2012, he was convicted along with 16 members of his organization. Four of them were sentenced to life imprisonment and 267 years in prison for the rest of the members, who were accused of murder, extortion and kidnapping./ CNA
