In the first episode of the "Focus" show, the tensions in the north of Kosovo and the positions of the United States and the European Union were discussed.

John Bolton, the former national security adviser of the United States criticized the EU, saying that it has failed with its policies in reducing tensions and achieving dialogue between the parties.

He stated in the show "Focus" on CNA that it should be understood that Kosovo is an independent state and will remain so.

" EU policies have failed in many directions there. Media reports about the approach of Serbian forces to the border are disturbing. Serbia said that there were no troops at the border and they allegedly withdrew. Maybe this incident is over, but it highlights the inherited instability that has been shown for many years. It is in everyone's interest to understand that Kosovo is an independent country and will remain an independent country" , said Bolton, while warning that the Western Balkans is at risk of instability.

" There are issues that need to be resolved with Serbia, but every country in the Balkans and Europe should favor Kosovo to get through this. There is a risk that something could go wrong at a time when we are facing Ukraine and it is not the time to face instability in the Balkans" , he continued.

The former American official said that he hopes that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is not thinking of following Russia's example with Ukraine.

" I hope not. I believed that the rule, the law in Europe has been since '45, but violated several times in Yugoslavia, that you cannot use force to change the borders in the continent of Europe. This is the rule, it is in the interest of America that this law is implemented because stability in Europe is in the American interest, anyone who breaks this will not receive a warm welcome in Washington", he emphasized./ CNA
