Boycott of court hearings/ Lawyers make the next move

The General Council of the Chamber of Advocacy is expected to hold another meeting next Thursday, to determine how to proceed with the boycott of court sessions.

It is learned that the meeting will take place on July 21 at 11:30, just one day before the announced meeting of the Disciplinary Committee.

The latter decided a few days ago to suspend the license of a lawyer from Fieri who had violated the boycott, while of the other 14, 11 used the legal framework with the request for more time to learn about the charges, while for 3 it was decided to drop the request for disciplinary measure.

We recall here that lawyers throughout the country have been protesting for weeks against the draft of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Ministry of Justice, which foresees a drastic reduction in the number of courts in the country.

So far, they have gone through 3 stages of boycott, a massive protest in front of the doors of the KLJJ and constant calls not to approve the draft as it was foreseen, but they have been constantly met with disdain from the decision-making actors.
