Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha spoke about the sterilization concession this Wednesday.

Through a statement to the media, Berisha stated that contrary to the Albanian law, which according to him requires that the granting of a concession should be done only when it reduces the cost of that type of relevant service in the public sector.

Berisha points out that the costs of this service have increased by 80 times from the sterilization contract.

Among other things, the former Prime Minister states that the former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, appointed with his firm, in flagrant opposition to the conflict of interest law, Genc Burazer, the first cousin, to the concession commission.

"In order to carry out his theft with Edi Rama, Ilir Beqaj, with his firm, appointed Genc Burazeri, the first cousin, to the concession commission, in flagrant violation of the conflict of interest law.

After that, Ilir Beqaj, his first cousin, assigned him to study the feasibility of the concession.

Albanian law requires that they be applied when they reduce the cost of service in the public sector. Burazeri i Beqaj, using false figures, concluded that granting this service with a concession reduced costs, when in reality they increased by 80 times.

Rama and Beqaj used the conflict of interest to sign the sterilization contract.

Edi Rama yesterday, in an extreme effort, tried to protect his business established in a contract based on the conflict of interest.

But what do our laws say in this case? Referring to the law of concession and public procurement, since in this case the combination of the two was made, Genc Burazeri had a legal duty to sign two statements. The first declaration of conflict of interest that he is not a close person as a leader in the line ministry. The second statement is about the conflict of interest in the company in question.
