Beleri gets permission to bury his grandmother/ Himara is shielded by numerous police forces

The elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, managed to get a few hours of leave to attend the funeral ceremony of his grandmother.

On the other hand, Himara is armored by numerous FNSH police forces. These forces are deployed for security reasons.

Beleri is expected to arrive in Himare accompanied by police officers.

We recalled that Fredi Beleri was arrested on May 12, 2023 and is accused of buying votes in the May 14 local elections. For him, the court imposed the measure of "imprisonment" which was objected to by his lawyers several times.

For the arrest of Beler, there were many reactions even from official Athens, which has stated that it will veto Albania's path to the EU.

Regarding this issue, Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that there is no political connection, but it is in the hands of justice./ CNA
