The Bank of Albania has increased the basic interest rate to 2.75%.

The news was confirmed by the governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, who said that this happened because of the war in Ukraine.

"Consumer price inflation marked a further increase in the third quarter. This inflation registered an average value of 7.9% during the quarter, showing progressive growth during it.

The Supervisory Council decided:

Increase the base interest rate by 0.5 percentage points, from 2.25% to 2.75%;

Increase the one-day loan interest rate by 0.5 percentage points, from 3.25% to 3.75%;

To increase the one-day deposit interest rate by 0.5 percentage points, from the level of 1.25% to the level of 1.75%", said Sejko. /CNA.al
