The teachers are determined not to retreat, but to escalate the protest.

In a statement to the media, the lecturers warned that they will go on a hunger strike, since they have not received an answer from the Government by the deadline they had set.

The head of the Teachers' Union, Sandër Kovaçi, said that as soon as they receive a guarantee for their lives from the President of the Republic and international institutions, 30 teachers will go on a hunger strike.

"In the impossibility of receiving an answer from the government, the Union addresses the president and law enforcement institutions to guarantee the lives of the teachers who will go on hunger strike and their families. We are here for the protection of education and human value. We strongly believe that it is an issue that belongs to everyone. If they receive a life guarantee, 30 lecturers have decided to go on strike. They will be waiting for an answer and in a few minutes they will go on strike. They will wait for the answer in the premises of the polytechnic", emphasized Kovaçi./ BA - CNA.al
