Interior Minister Taulant Balla paid a visit to Bajram Curri today, where he met with employees at the Tropoja Police Station. Balla appreciated the work of the law enforcement forces in increasing security as a whole, and especially for the increased care for the high number of tourists. He further demanded the full investigation and quick clarification of the old criminal events.

"No criminal events with the high number of tourists who came to enjoy the beautiful natural resources. We have come to the conclusion that the strength and rule of law in Tropoja is at the highest coefficient and the credit goes to each of you, the leaders and above all the residents of the area. Next year we will have more tourists, responsibility must be increased. Investigating past events and ending impunity should be the main focus. Even the crimes of the past, mainly those against the person's property, we must continue the investigative work. We should not rejoice in the fact that now we do not have criminal events, but we have the responsibility to do justice. The public appreciates us for every step we take in this direction,' he declared.

The minister spoke about the necessity of strengthening police controls, against the possession of weapons without a permit.

"The possession of weapons without a permit must be discouraged. You will minimize the phenomenon of criminal events, fight the possession of weapons without a permit! Because most of the events happen in the heat of the moment and the possession of a weapon without a permit is the source of a serious crime against a person's life. Appeal to residents to surrender their weapons without permission. We need to increase communication with the community. We will launch a campaign, next year, encouraging the handing over of weapons without a permit', appealed the minister.

The minister said that the work should be intensified in the prevention of illegal activities against property and the environment. According to him, these remain among the main tasks of the Police and the Prosecutor's Office.
