The chairman of the DP Municipal Council, Ilir Alimehmeti, has published several statements of the mayor Erion Veliaj, where he shows how he contradicts himself regarding the incinerator of Tirana, which does not exist, and the one of Elbasan, which requires over 2 million euros to maintain.

Alimehmeti commented on Veliaj's statement a few days ago in a show where he stated that he was not the one who requested the construction of the incinerator in Tirana and that the Municipality of Tirana was only a client of the government.

The chairman of the DP Municipal Council, Alimehmeti, went back to September 2018, where at the meeting of the Municipal Council, Veliaj proudly said that he was the one who had asked the government for the incinerator, as he was inspired by the success of the Elbasan incinerator and even wanted for the whole county.

Alimehmeti says that Veliaj also stated that there would be no additional costs for the municipality of Tirana and that the concrete commitment of costs will be presented to the Municipal Council as soon as it is ready.

After that, he invited Veliaj to go, together with the advisers, to see either the non-existent incinerator in Tirana or the non-functioning one in Elbasan.
