The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, requested the reform of the Fire Service nationwide.

In a meeting held with the leaders of the Fire Forces in 61 local units, Balla said that "the fire service needs more tangible standardization and improvement both in the General Directorate and also at the local level".

The minister stated that the full sub-legal basis for recruitment, training, data management, as well as improving the transparency of inspections of businesses should be completed.

"We are all well aware that everything I said is an incomplete epicrisis of the situation. I know very well that in some municipalities we do not have the right fleet of firefighting vehicles, there are not the right employees in some local units trained in this service, but local leaders must understand that working in this service is not a good idea, because it endangers the very life of that person who has been appointed to that task who has no knowledge", he said.

Balla emphasized that the situation must change immediately and "there should not be any object with great public intensity such as a hotel, cinema, etc., without being inspected"./ CNA
