Criminal lawyer: Don't arrest thieves and criminals

Criminal lawyer, Ylli Manjani, has "misled" again, this time calling for thieves and criminals not to be arrested.

But the "madness" of the lawyer who defends gangs and criminal groups in SPAK goes so far as to say that he doesn't even want membership in the European Union, as long as there are no arrests of thieves and criminals.

The soldier of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, Ylli Manjani, "goes crazy" in his posts just to protect what cannot be defended.

For the criminal lawyer, nothing matters, not even the country's European membership, as long as thieves and criminals are not affected.

"Blocking the arrest of Belinda Balluku should be the beginning and not the end of a necessary intervention that needs to be made in criminal justice."

It is definitely not right for Parliament to make decisions only for its own members. Parliament is supposed to make decisions for everyone else first. So it is not right for them to make decisions for Belinda and remain silent about the others!!!

I remind you again (I've been doing it for years) that:

Imprisonment in Albania is at the peak of its abusive use.

Now, as for the theory that intervening to stop this abusive practice will block our negotiations, I think that:

Never let them come! If the condition for EU membership is the arbitrary imprisonment of people, to please the masses, I do not want this membership! I have had this opinion, I have it and I will have it as long as I have breath.

But, my belief is that what the theory in question suggests is speculation and is not based on reality. Nowhere in the EU does this happen as it does here, with people being imprisoned without first being proven guilty by a court that is not controlled by the prosecution!

Nowhere in a democratic space are arrests made to please the crowds, because that would not be called democracy, but Talibanism!

I am not aware that the EU encourages and suggests Talibanism anywhere! Therefore, the theory that we should arrest as many as possible to enter the EU makes no sense. But even if there is, I repeat, better not in this kind of EU!

There has been no more trouble than what is happening in the EU countries themselves, with Belinda's immunity. The case of the Czech Prime Minister is more recent. The latter was even accused of EU funds. But the latter did neither a word nor a word. Even less were there statements from embassies in Prague commenting on the decision of the parliament there...

No wonder, the story is long and never-ending, but the Albanian Parliament has still not done anything to stop abusive proceedings and especially imprisonment without evidence.

There is no democratic standard for pre-trial detention to be transformed into a preliminary punishment measure!!!

Parliament has still done nothing to establish an impartial court and to increase procedural guarantees that prevent abuses against its citizens.

"If parliament were to be content with just stopping Belinda's arrest, it would be the greatest injustice done to this country," Manjani writes. /CNA
