More valuable than 1000 months/ Believers celebrate the Night of Power today,

As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, Muslim believers around the world celebrate Laylat al-Qadr today.

Laylat al-Qadr is the night on which the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Gabriel, according to the Islamic religion. For this reason, believers consider Laylat al-Qadr to be a great historical and spiritual moment in the Islamic religion.

Laylat al-Qadr falls during the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan, while many scholars emphasize that it can be on one of the odd nights, such as the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th of Ramadan. Because of this, believers try to increase their worship, prayers and supplications during these nights.

On this night, Muslims spend time in prayer, reading the Quran, making supplications, and seeking forgiveness for their sins. It is believed that prayers made on the Night of Power have special value and are more easily accepted by God.

Many mosques are filled with worshippers during this night, and the spiritual atmosphere and devotion are evident wherever Muslims gather for worship. For many, this night is an opportunity to reflect on life, seek forgiveness, and strengthen their connection with God.

The Night of Power remains a symbol of mercy, forgiveness, and hope for believers, reminding them of the importance of faith, humility, and good deeds in daily life.

Why is the Night of Power hidden?

There is much wisdom in the mystery of this night. If we all knew exactly when Laylat al-Qadr was, our determination and willpower during Ramadan would decrease.

People would simply pay attention and importance to this particular night, which they would spend in worship and good deeds and that's it. Therefore, its concealment is seen as a motivation for more devotion throughout the month and a doubling of good deeds, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan.

The same as the secret of the Night of Power is the time of acceptance of prayer on Friday, as is the secret of the greatest name of God, with which if someone calls upon God, He answers and accepts their prayer. These three have been kept secret so that we may pray to God and worship Him as much as possible.

Benefits of the Night of Power

Its blessings are endless and its blessings follow us until the next year. On this night, the lifespan of people is determined. It is determined where they are destined to go. It is determined the risk, provision and poverty. Who will perform Hajj is determined on this very night.

On this night, we descend with thousands of angels and Gabriel himself descends to earth. Allah has descended on this month and this day to reward and worship. So, on this night, the fate of the creatures is determined.

It is a night that God has chosen to fill with special greatness and goodness. As stated in the Quran, this is a night more valuable than a thousand months.

In it, the angels of God, led by Gabriel, descend to the world and in it the fate of a year for each person is determined, as well as what is a blessed night dominated by peace, until dawn. It is said that on the Night of Power, the angels are informed of what will happen throughout the coming year.

It was called Qadr because this is a night of greatness to the great God and because in it sins are forgiven the most and evils are covered, so this is the night of Maghfiret-mercy. Islamic scholars called it "one of the most respected holidays, a night of peace, of general goodness, of unparalleled reward."

One of the greatnesses of this night is the opening of the doors of heaven to accept the prayers of those who turn to their Lord to solve their problems, remove difficulties and bring them joy. This night is better and more valuable than a thousand other months. And 1000 months make 83 years and 4 months.

What should a believer do on the Night of Power?

-Do as much as I want (prayer).

-To repent and ask for forgiveness (to repent for sins and seek mercy from God Almighty.

-To increase the glorification of Allah and thanksgiving.

-To make salawat (prayer) for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

-To do charity whenever possible.

-To be protected from sins of the limbs (hands, feet, eyes, ears, etc.).

-Not to miss prayers without congregation (i.e., to pray as much as possible in the mosque).

-To pray the supererogatory prayers and tashahhud (night prayers) more than usual./  CNA
