The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime is planning to establish an operational unit within the National Bureau of Investigation, with the aim of carrying out investigative actions in an infiltrating manner and independently of the State Police.

According to SPAK's annual report, the new unit will significantly limit the possibility of information leakage during investigations and will strengthen the Bureau's operational capacity.

This initiative comes after concerns expressed by the prosecution regarding the disclosure of shares and obstacles in previous operations.

The BKH, modeled after the American FBI, already has surveillance and a preventive unit under its jurisdiction, although the risk assessment unit is not yet operational.

Officials have not provided an explanation for this delay, despite repeated requests from the former director of the Bureau.

In the new facility where the Bureau will be relocated, each interrogation office will be equipped with camera and audio recording systems, to ensure full documentation of each investigation. SPAK states that this new structure will open a new dimension in complicated investigations, making the Bureau more independent and effective./ CNA
