The Association of Professional Journalists of Albania and the Institute of Online and Social Media have reacted to the arrest of journalist Ervis Hasanaga.

The Association and the Institute call on the authorities to ensure transparency and respect for due process in dealing with this matter.

The statement states that measures such as arrests of journalists and media workers can be used in extreme cases and must be proportionate and justified.

Also, it is underlined that journalists must respect their Code of Ethics.
