The act-verification process for the categorization of bakeries and pastry shops in all 3 electricity price bands of 7.6 ALL, 9.5 ALL and 12 ALL per kWh is completed.

In total, according to the president of the Association of Bread, Confectioneries and Pastries, Gëzim Peshkopia, there are about 3,800 bakeries in the country. Peshkopia says that 70% of them are categorized in the price band of 9.5 Lek per kWh, while 30% are part of the electricity price bands of 7.6 Lek and 12 Lek per kWh.

But according to him, there are other entities that, due to lack of documentation or factual situation that are not bakeries, pay 14 Lek for whom. "For all reasons or claims, as well as for the second hours, in the ovens that pay 14 lek, you should go to the Customer Care Offices", explains the Association of Bread, Pastries and Doughs.

The field verification process for the division of subjects into 3 categories started on May 7. Until May 20, bakeries and pastry shops filled out the form distributed by the Universal Service Provider (FSHU) for the concrete conditions of which electricity band they are included in.

Completing the form precedes the implementation of the ERE decision approved on April 15, 2024, for the division of the price of electricity into 3 bands, according to the categorization of bread production businesses.

The new billings that will be carried out starting May 1, 2024 until December 31, 2024 will be applied according to the new prices for bread producers. After the establishment of a working group and continuous consultations, the Association of Bread, Pastries and Doughs and MIE of OSHEE Group, have agreed on three different prices according to the type of activity that the subject has.

In the decision approved by ERE for the first category, which includes "Only bakeries/flour production", the price of electricity will be 7.6 ALL/kWh. For the second category "Bakery, accompanying flour products, pastry shop" the price will be 9.5 ALL/kWh and for the third category "Bakery, accompanying flour products, pastry shop, coffee service" the price will be 12 ALL/kWh .

According to the decision approved in 2018 by ERE, previously only bakeries and flour production for 0.4 kV voltage paid a subsidized rate of 7.6 ALL/kWh.

While for businesses connected to 0.4 kV voltage, the energy fee is 14 ALL per kWh. But despite the previous decision, currently all the bakeries in the country, regardless of the services they offered as pastry shops or coffee bars, bought energy for 7.6 Lek./Monitor
