6 defendants for corruption/ How they benefited from up to 7,500 euros to change

The Special Prosecution Office closed the investigations and sent 6 people accused of exercising illegal influence over persons with public functions for trial.

The announcement made by SPAK revealed details of how this criminal activity operated.

SPAK reports that throughout 2020 they have received monetary amounts ranging from 4 thousand to 7,500 euros, claiming that they could influence changes in security measures.

One of the defendants, Erjon Dani, was the chief of crimes at Police Station number 3 in 2020 and distributed TIMS data to other people.

 

" The investigations conducted have revealed that during 2020, the defendants were involved in three separate episodes, where they requested and received monetary amounts ranging from 4,000 to 7,500 euros, claiming that they had the ability to exercise illegal influence over justice officials, with the aim of influencing personal security measures and favoring the sentencing of some of the arrested.

It has also been proven that the defendant Erjon Dani, at the time of the events, was the deputy chief of police and head of crimes at Police Station No. 3 in Tirana, and abused his position by distributing data obtained from the TIMS system to third parties , SPAK reports./CNA
