On Tuesday, August 20, about 500 people will arrive at the camps in Gjadër and Shengjin, among them Italian police officers, carabinieri and financial police who will test the operation of the centers and the implementation of the protocol between the two countries.

From September 1, the 2 camps will officially be the centers for the reception of immigrants, who will be rescued by the Italian authorities in the waters of the Mediterranean. 

An internal regulation has been published for the employees of the center with 14 ordinances in total, for the behavior or relationship they should have with the Albanian people during their stay.

In a month, the maximum capacity of the number that the camp will host cannot be more than 3 thousand immigrants and after the completion of the assessment procedures, the Italian authorities will remove the refugees from the Albanian territory at their own expense.

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) will monitor the first three months of the implementation of the agreement to ensure that international standards for human rights will be implemented./ CNA
