Weekly balance/ 168 licenses are suspended, 61 drivers are arrested

The Traffic Police has intensified measures due to the large flow of traffic in all main national axes, coastal areas, urban centers and tourist areas.

The police announce that monitoring has been carried out with intelligent speedometers, police scanners, automatic radars, high-quality drones, draggers and telescopes.

At the same time, monitoring measures were taken with cameras and speedometers, to prevent the violation of road traffic rules during traffic in the tunnel of Llogara, Kalimash and Elbasan.

As a result of monitoring in all road axes and urban centers, 168 driving licenses were suspended during one week, for speeding above the permitted rates, for driving under the influence of alcohol/in a drunken state, and for traffic in the opposite direction;

Also, 61 drivers were arrested, of these 39 for driving while intoxicated and 22 for driving without a driving license.

Also, 24,729 administrative measures have been imposed across the country, of which:

- 7,234 for speed exceeding the permitted rates;

- 1 341 for using a mobile phone while driving;

- 1 542 for not using the seat belt;

- 3,332 for wrong passing;

- 356 for not wearing a protective helmet;

- 219 for dangerous maneuvers on the road;

- 258 for driving under the influence of alcohol;

- 9 234 for wrong parking;

- 1 213 for other violations.

The Traffic Police appeals to all drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles to strictly implement traffic rules, to use alternative routes, to stay in line when there is a slowdown in the movement of vehicles in cases of traffic, to give priority to pedestrians and do not make wrong passes or dangerous maneuvers in urban centers and national axes.
