For 12 days, the fire has been active in Malin e Thata and the Prespa National Park.

Despite the intervention from the air during the last two days, the situation continues to be urgent, due to the high temperatures, wind and dry vegetation that spread the flames quickly.

The Mayor of Pustec, Pali Kolefski, said this Friday that the situation is calm during the morning, but from noon onwards, the flames take on even greater proportions.

"The situation is more problematic at the top of Dry Mountain, in the place called Pllaja e Pusi, where the broken terrain makes it difficult for the forces to intervene. On the ground today are 25 forces of the army, as well as the fire service of the municipality and the Protected Areas.

We are in continuous communication with the Civil Emergencies, to which we have asked them to continue the intervention from the air even today, but for the moment the planes are in Mali e Tomorri and when there is space, the intervention in Prespa will also be considered. In the Prespa Park, the outbreaks are small, but the fires along the border with North Macedonia remain a concern, which have also spread in the Gali?ica Park and endanger both the forest areas of Pogradec and Pustec Municipality," declared Kolefski./ CNA
