The situation of fires in the country in the last 24 hours/ The most problematic
Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense has provided details about the fire situation in the country, identifying where the most problematic areas are at the moment.

According to the data, there are still 14 active outbreaks and the situation continues to be worrying in mountainous areas, forests and pastures, far from inhabited centers, such as Mount Tomorri, Mount Thata in Prespa, Bjeshke Bolotek and Mount Tërnovë in Bulqiza.

320 fire brigades, 238 military forces, 250 civil emergency structures of the local government, 120 from the administration of protected areas, 187 forest services, and 130 volunteers have been engaged for the isolation and complete extinguishing of the fires.

"During the last 24 hours, 29 fires have been registered in some areas of the country, of which 15 have been extinguished and brought under control, while 14 still remain active, but are under continuous monitoring.

The most problematic foci are currently in the mountainous areas, forests and pastures, far from the inhabited centers, such as in the mountain of Tomorri, the mountain of Thate in Prespa, the mountains of Bolotek and the mountain of Tërnovo in Bulqiza.

320 fire brigades, 238 military forces, 250 civil emergency structures of the local government, 120 from the administration of protected areas, 187 forest services, and 130 volunteers have been engaged for the isolation and complete extinguishing of the fires.

Air forces and air vehicles are on full alert. During today's day, the operational structures at the local and central level are committed to extinguishing and isolating the fires that remain active, while the air support will continue with the Romanian team.

We appreciate the increased intensity of the work of the State Police for identifying and bringing the perpetrators of the fires to justice. We demand from the justice bodies the correct implementation of the law for all the perpetrators of these criminal offenses that pose a danger to the lives of citizens, property, the environment and cultural values.

We invite all citizens, especially farmers, to contribute to the early response in this situation with very high temperatures and to respect the procedures and legal acts for starting fires. Most fires in residential areas are the result of farmers' irresponsibility in starting and managing fires, except for criminal cases that are the subject of investigations by the judicial authorities.

The Ministry of Defense, the National Civil Defense Agency and all the institutions and structures of the civil defense system will continue to monitor the situation without interruption and engage all capacities at the national and international level as appropriate", the Ministry of Defense announces./ CNA
