The Prosecutor's Office of Korça has sent for trial the citizen AB, who embezzled 3 million euros through fraud.

The investigation revealed that as a regional agent of a private postal company operating in the country, the defendant made multiple fictitious transactions by purchasing goods from other persons and fictitiously reporting that these goods had been paid for.

According to the prosecutors, the AB citizen invested the money she received in assets that she placed in the name of her relatives.

"At the same time, receiving payments for the goods from third parties, the defendant reported them as paid but not depositing the payments in the postal account, benefiting in this way through fraud a value of about 3 million euros. By order of The prosecutor, a citizen of AB, was detained and seized several luxury vehicles which are the product of the criminal offense of fraud, which she had placed in the name of her relatives. The Korçë Prosecutor's Office is also investigating the criminal offense of "Cleaning the products of criminal offense and criminal activity" provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code to identify other assets of illegal origin and to identify and bring to criminal responsibility the persons involved", it is stated in the announcement of the prosecution./ CNA
