MP Ina Zhupa, during her speech in the Committee on Europe and Foreign Affairs, reacted to Taulant Balla's statements in the Assembly towards MP Albana Vokshi.

Zhupa demanded that the commission distance itself from violence and harassment and that measures be taken against Balla.

"Violence against women is bad in all its forms. The Assembly was faced with verbal violence, the minimum is to take a stand and distance yourself from violence and seek the same stance that supports the gender equality law and the EU asks Albania to make greater efforts against gender-based violence. If this committee cannot get the message across that when the vice-chair of the committee is violated, it should distance itself. The committee should take measures against Mr. Balla for the vocabulary used in the parliamentary session. None of the socialists reacted to this," said Zhupa./ CNA
