1. The combination with navy blue

This combination continues to be a very controversial fashion debate, but designers generally advise to avoid this combination.

Instead of a navy blue, which is very close to black, designer Sunica Du suggests combining black with a true royal blue or sky blue.

2. Dressed in black from head to toe

Although head-to-toe black can look elegant with the right outfits, experts say this combination looks too harsh for most people, especially older people.

Stylists suggest you break up the black with accessories, for example a curly scarf.
