Zbulohet shkaku i mundshëm i tërmetit më të madh të Marsit  

Shkaku i mundshëm i ngjarjes më të madhe sizmike të regjistruar ndonjëherë në Mars është zbuluar pas një studimi të udhëhequr nga Britania e Madhe.

Tërmeti me magnitudë 4.7 u regjistrua nga Landeri InSight i NASA -s në 4 maj të vitit të kaluar, duke shkaktuar dridhje nëpër planet për gjashtë orë.

Fillimisht mendohej se ishte shkaktuar nga një përplasje meteori, i cili kishte rezultuar në lëkundje të ngjashme më parë.

Por pas një kërkimi në sipërfaqen e madhe të planetit një ekip ndërkombëtar kërkimor nuk gjeti asnjë shenjë të një krateri të ri.

Rezultatet, e publikuara në revistën Geophysical Research Letters, tregojnë se Marsi është shumë më aktiv nga ana sizmike se sa besonin shkencëtarët.

Drejtuesi i studimit, Benjamin Fernando, i Universitetit të Oksfordit, tha se gjetjet madje mund të informojnë se ku mund të jetë e sigurt për njerëzit të jetojnë nëse ambiciet e Elon Musk për të kolonizuar Marsin bëhen realitet./ CNA
