META: WhatsApp will stop working on older Android models next week

META is planning to ban WhatsApp for older versions of the Android operating system.

This means the messaging app will stop working on some Galaxy models this month.

This is something that WhatsApp does periodically as it updates its features and interface system.

"To choose what not to support, every year we, like other technology companies, look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the least number of people still using them," WhatsApp explained. ".

"These devices may also not have the latest security updates or may not have the required functionality to run WhatsApp," he added.

Specifically, WhatsApp will be disabled for Android 5.0 and older versions starting October 24.

It's important to note that this change will affect any Android device still running version 5.0 Lollipop or older.

Some popular models include the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
