The co-head of Netflix resigns

Reed Hastings has stepped down from his role as co-CEO of Netflix, a company he has contributed to for more than 25 years.

His announcement comes as Netflix has seen its subscriber numbers grow at the end of last year.

Due to economic difficulties, many people are predicted to give up Netflix services.

But the platform has reversed this trend, as seven million new users have been added, several times more than analysts had predicted.

"The year 2022 has been difficult, with a rough start, but a bright finish," the company said in a statement.

Hastings' departure leaves Netflix in a busy market, albeit with 231 million viewers worldwide.

The company will now be led by Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters, both in senior executive positions./ REL
