Musk vacates Twitter offices in San Francisco/ Auctions off equipment

Twitter has auctioned off hundreds of items from its San Francisco headquarters online.

A statue of the platform's famous logo currently costs $11,000.

The auction comes as new owner Elon Musk is scaling back Twitter following his $44 billion purchase of the company last year.

Since taking office in late October, Musk has laid off about half of the company's 7,500 staff.

Some of the equipment up for auction includes espresso machines, beverages, tables, conference booths, printers, sofas and many other items.

Musk hinted in a tweet in November that the company had suffered a "massive drop in revenue" after some advertisers dropped out.

He also warned that the firm could go bankrupt. Twitter allegedly has not paid the rent in offices around the globe, including their center in San Francisco, where their owner is suing for non-payment./ CNA.al
