"Alphabet" lays off 12 thousand employees/ What is happening with the "giants" of technology?

Alphabet, the parent company of the giant Google, will cut 12,000 jobs.

The company's chief executive, Sundar Pichai, said in an internal email that he takes "full responsibility" for the job cuts.

This decision will affect 6 percent of Alphabet's workforce, and primarily teams engaged in recruiting and engineering.

This news comes after Microsoft announced that it will cut 10,000 jobs.

Amazon made a similar announcement days ago - there will be 18,000 fewer jobs.

Pichai thanked the staff "for the great work" in their roles, and added that their contributions will be greatly appreciated.

"While this upheaval will not be easy, we will support workers who are looking for new opportunities."
