OFFICIAL/ The European Super League ends, Real Madrid also withdraws

Real Madrid and UEFA have reached an agreement that ends the disputes of recent years regarding the European Super League project, which the Spanish club has already abandoned.

The parties confirmed that an agreement in principle has been reached in order to ensure the stability of European club football. The agreement aims to respect the principle of sporting merit and strengthen the long-term sustainability of clubs.

It also emphasizes the importance of improving the fan experience through the use of technology. This step is expected to close the legal issues open between the parties regarding the Super League.

The Super League project was presented in 2021 by 12 founding clubs, including Real Madrid. The initiative aimed to create an alternative competition to the Champions League, but faced strong opposition.
