OFFICIAL/ Super League leaders introduce new coach

Afrim Tovërlani is the new coach of Prishtina. After the departure of Artim Thaqi, the capital's players have wasted no time in finding a new coach.

Tovërlani has left the Kosovo U-21 team and is returning to the blue and white team.

"FC Prishtina is pleased to introduce the team's new coach, Afrim Tovërlani, who after 11 years returns to lead the white and blue. "Toki" returns to his home, where he has left deep traces as a footballer and coach", the announcement initially states. Tovërlani previously led FC Prishtina in two periods, 2007–2009 and 2012–2014, achieving impressive results. During his four years in charge of the club, he has given Prishtina 7 trophies, including the championship title, the Kosovo Cup and the Super Cup, ranking among the most successful coaches in the club's modern history".

In addition to his achievements as a coach, Afrim Tovërlani also has a rich history as a footballer for FC Prishtina. During the 80s and 90s, he was one of the key figures of the team, even captain for a long period. Wearing the blue and white jersey, Tovërlani has also won important trophies as a footballer, contributing to the club's most glorious periods. FC Prishtina wishes coach Tovërlani a welcome and much success in his new position, with the belief that his experience and professionalism will bring back to the club the glory and trophies that the fans are eagerly awaiting," reads the Prishtina statement.
