Greek football was shocked on Wednesday evening when the news of the passing of George Baldock was announced. The 31-year-old man was found dead in the pool of his home, where he was alone.

His partner had announced that she had lost contact with her husband and this caused the movements to begin. The woman called the owner of the house Baldock was renting so he could go and find out what was going on. The owner went to the apartment and found the footballer dead in his pool.

The reasons for his death have not yet been made known, while according to Greek media, he was lifeless in the pool for about five hours.

Baldok joined Panatha this season, signing a three-year contract to play in the Greek Super League.
