Historic success! PSG breaks records with Champions League triumph

PSG continues to write the history of European football after their second consecutive Champions League triumph.

The French team became only the third team in history to win the championship and the Champions League in two consecutive seasons, after Real Madrid in 1956-1958 and Ajax in 1971-1973.

The latest success came after a penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in the competition's final. Coach Luis Enrique also set a historic record, becoming the first Spanish coach to defend the Champions League trophy since Jose Villalonga in the 1955/56 and 1956/57 seasons.

PSG confirmed another important statistic, winning for the sixth time in six penalty shootouts under the Spanish coach. Arsenal, on the other hand, lost their third international final decided on penalties.
