OFFICIAL/ Liverpool sack coach Arne Slot

Liverpool have decided to part ways with Arne Slot, ending a two-year spell in charge of the team. Although the statement said it was a mutual agreement between the parties, the English media have interpreted the decision as a dismissal following last season's results.

Arne Slot took over as Liverpool manager in 2024, replacing Jurgen Klopp, who left after nine seasons at the helm of the Reds. The Dutchman's start to life was positive, as he won the Premier League title in his first season, giving Liverpool their 20th trophy in club history.

However, the second season proved to be much more difficult. Liverpool failed to maintain the pace of the leading teams and ended the championship in fifth place in the Premier League. This ranking is considered disappointing for the club's objectives, which aimed to continue competing for the title and the most important successes in English and European football.
