Is the Ronaldo-Messi rivalry back? The Argentines head to Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to continue his football career until 2027, signing a new contract with Al Nassr that will keep him active even after his 42nd birthday.

The record contract includes a payment of 200 million euros per season, plus 60 million euros per year from image rights. CR7's sporting goal remains to reach 1000 career goals.

The deal has also reignited interest in his rivalry with Lionel Messi, with Al Hilal resuming efforts to convince the Argentine star to move to Saudi Arabia.

Media in the Middle East are reporting a meeting between club executives and Messi's father-manager in the US.

Messi had previously rejected an offer of $1.2 billion over four years. If the negotiations go through, the Ronaldo-Messi rivalry could return after a few years of separation.
