Albanian midfielder: I was asked by Chelsea and Manchester City, but I turned them down

Valon Berisha remembered the beginnings of his career where he stated that there were offers from teams with names such as Manchester City or Aston Villa, but both of these offers were rejected by the Albanian.

The latter says that the reason for the rejection was because at that time he was only 14 years old and it was difficult for him to be separated from his family at such a young age.

"Chelsea was the first team I went to for trials when I was 14 years old. I was also at Aston Villa and Manchester City. These last two have given me a very good deal for the age I've had. They also offered me studies. But I felt too young to leave my family at that age and live alone. I had a family that looked a lot at the aspect of education. These were the reasons I stayed in Norway. 14 years old, you are still a child", said the 30-year-old.
