The well-known Spanish defender "hangs up his boots" at the age of 36

Former Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has decided to hang up his boots at the age of 36. The news was announced by the Spaniard himself from Pamplona through a post on social networks.

"36 years playing football, 16 of which as a professional. I have pushed my body and pushed it to limits I never imagined. My knee sends me a message loud and clear. I can't go on, so I accept the situation. One phase is over and another one is starting, so I'm happy. I thank all the clubs I have played with in my career," wrote Nacho on social networks.

The defender, born in Pamplona, ??started his career at Osasuna, then wore the jersey of Malaga, Arsenal for 7 seasons and the last of Real Sociedad, but a knee injury made it impossible for him to continue his career as a footballer.
